Fire & Rescue

The Union Center Fire Company responds to approximately 400 emergencies a year within our own and neighboring districts. These emergencies cover a wide spectrum including structural fires, motor vehicle accidents, water rescue, hazardous material incidents, and service calls. Our fleet of fire apparatus is fully equipped to handle all incidents, and our two fire stations are strategically located to provide optimal response time to an emergency. The state-of-the-art equipment on our apparatus is designed to save the lives of both victims and first responders. The high level of training that our membership receives has allowed us to continue to hold a reputation for aggressive and safe interior operations at structural fires and we often assist our neighboring departments with their Incidents as well.

The Union Center Fire Company is proud to have within our membership many people who are also leaders within the local and regional emergency services community. Our membership includes people involved within Broome County Office of Emergency Services, Broome County Wild Land Search & Rescue team, the Broome County Hazmat Team, New York State DEC. Because of this, our members are afforded training and equipment that meets and exceeds the high standards set forth by Broome County, the state of New York, and the Federal government. Our goal is for everyone to return home safely at the end of a call, and our training programs aim to ensure that this occurs every time.
